The topic of the session was Entrepreneurship and IP Strategy. The speaker of the day was Ms. Manvi Kundu, Assistant Professor, Geeta Institute of Law, Panipat. She highlighted the importance of Intellectual Property for start ups and what strategies can be applied for taking the maximum advantage of Intellectual Property. She said that it is important for everyone to protect his or her ideas and for entrepreneurs; it is all the more essential to safeguard this investment. Intellectual Property can be critical in helping new ventures transform their innovation potential and creativity into market value and competitiveness. Intellectual property rights (IPR) can be used to protect the technology, brand name, design and creativity behind the concept.
Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director, said that Intellectual Property gives the creator sole ownership of the concept, in a similar way to owning physical property like a house or car. Owners can control the use of their intellectual property to gain financial reward.

She highlighted the importance of Intellectual Property for businesses and why it needs to be protected. She said that Intellectual Property Rights are an important tol for consumer protection as they help in identifying the quality of a product. She said that Intellectual property protection is critical to fostering innovation. Without protection of ideas, businesses and individuals would not reap the full benefits of their inventions and would focus less on research and development. Similarly, artists would not be fully compensated for their creations and cultural vitality would suffer as a result. Protecting our Intellectual property ensures the material reward for intellectual property, availability of original products for consumers and for economic growth and advancement in technology sector.

The New Education Policy 2020 emphasizes on transforming assessment for optimizing learning and development of all students. IRS Ritu Sharma, Joint Secretary, CBSE acknowledged that the present Board Examinations have become high stakes with a lot of emphasis on marks. She highlighted the steps CBSE is taking to change this. Shri Ved Prakash ji explained that NEP-2020 focuses on – regular, formative and competency-based assessment, promoting learning and development of students and testing higher-order skills-analysis, critical thinking and conceptual clarity. The goal of NEP-2020 is to transform the culture of assessment.
The speakers mentioned that the pattern of examination has remained unchanged for a very long time. The main aim for students has become getting good marks. Society too gives preferential treatment to those who attain high marks. They opined that it is time that the main aim of examination should shift towards all-round development of students and stated that assessment should facilitate attainment of competencies specified in terms of learning outcomes in a holistic manner during teaching learning process. The session was very engaging and the queries of the audience were duly taken up by the speakers.
The session was concluded by calling on all stakeholders to work together for the successful implementation of NEP-2020 to fulfill the aspirations of 260 million students, their parents, teachers and the school system.

The illustrious speaker of the day was Prof. Dr. Neelam Saxena, Professor & Head of Amity Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Amity University, whose wise words and forward thinking captivated everyone.
Dr. Neelam Saxena said that the creative capacity of the team can be enhanced by focusing on three core design thinking principles, or 3 E's: empathy, expansive thinking, and experimentation. It revolves around a deep interest in developing an understanding of the people for whom the makers are designing products or services. It helps employees to become more observant and develop empathy with customers.
The Design thinking pulls together what's desirable from a human point of view with what is technologically feasible and economically viable. She further emphasized on using the process to define the steps needed to tackle each project, and remember to hold all ideas and sketches throughout the process. Keeping this in mind Faculty Development Cell of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad organised a Webinar on Women Empowerment “Under the Umbrella of Pink- Exploring Feminism” on 30th January 2021. The speaker for the day was Dr. Archana Bhatia, a renowned speaker, Mahilla Ratan Awardee and Record Holder (Asia and India Book of Records). She emphasised that to help empowering women we have to make them free from any kind of social and societal pressure. Let women grow; think and figure out their life on their own is the only mantra to bring women on an equal front as of men. We need to honour their presence and hard work.

He mainly focuses on the concept of cyber security, its importance and carrier in this field. He told that Cyber security is the practice of protecting systems, networks, and programs from digital attacks. These cyber attacks are usually aimed at accessing, changing, or destroying sensitive information; extorting money from users; or interrupting normal business processes. Implementing effective cyber security measures is particularly challenging today because there are more devices than people, and attackers are becoming more innovative.

He further emphasized that as the method of communication, the type of information will change so the virtual innovation will take up the world over. Mr. Mahesh Sachdeva CEO& MD of Fuji Gemco Pvt. Ltd shared his views on the creativity and innovation which needs to be imbibed in the students at the Institute level by the faculty members. He said that the institutes need to produce managers as per the requirement of industry as now the placement of a student will be primarily based on knowledge, information and training being given to him at his institute level. For this the faculty has to revisit and recreate themselves to meet this need.
Further Mr. Varinder Kumar Verma Head of Talent Acquisition & HR Transformation, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said that students need to focus on learnability, agility and adaptability to change. They must be trained for leadership magnetism so as to be ready for navigating the future challenges. Mr. Amit Arora, AVP Transitions, EXL Services India (P) Limited, said that industry is looking for specialists so the budding graduates need to put all their efforts in being specialized in area of their excellence. Mr. Pradeep Mohanty, MD, Sledge Hammer Oil Tools Pvt. Limited focused on the viewpoint that the upcoming business man , entrepreneurs must be hardworking and disciplined so as to cope up with these challenging times. He also mentioned two fundamental changes in today’s scenario- nature of work and the movement from trinity to unity. Mr. Gyanendra Kumar Pandey, Assistant VP, /Head HR, CBO Sales and Solutions at Tata Consultancy Services rightly said that the disruptions are the part of life and we have to learn how to diversify and upgrade ourselves as the nature of jobs is going to change. He also focused on E-shape learning and resilience to handle the present situation. Mr. P. Sunil Kumar, currently working as SCM –Logistics and Operating in- charge for Finished Goods, Logistics and Distributions of India’s largest Aluminium Producer – Vedanta Ltd shared his views on key transformation like Industry 4.0 and Supply chain 4.0 stating that we are moving towards the smart factory which are cyber physical using latest technologies like IOT, AI, Block Chain and many more. Technical session -2 began by inviting dynamic panelist Ms. Meghanshi Gupta working as an Assistant Manager – HR in Global Growth, Faridabad. She shared her views on various challenges and opportunities in front of industries in this pandemic Scenario. Ms. Gunjan Saini, working in Group Learning and Global Facilitator Management, Capgemini, focused on some most demanding area like data analytics, Cloud computing, cyber security and digital marketing. Mr. KawalJeet Jawa, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Daikin Air conditioning India Pvt. Ltd. focused on the opportunities available for students and also guided them how to imbibe the skills to adapt, survive and sustain in this new normal. Dr. Ashwani Bhalla, Professor, SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana and President Punjab Commerce and Management Association, Ludhiana, Punjab shed the light on the concept of B2B means back to basics and shared his vision to make synergetic rethinking for developing new ecosystem.

Every year July 26 is celebrated as ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ to remember the success of Operation Vijay in 1999 Kargil War. This year marked 21st anniversary of India’s victory and it is a moment of great pride for every citizen of this country. To pay respects to the Jawans who sacrificed their lives on the battlefield, SARFAROSH – The Patriots Club of DAV INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, FARIDABAD organized a Web talk on “Know Your Heroes”. The esteemed speakers of the day who illuminated the event with their intriguing experiences were Col. D V Sheoran, Col. Deepak Singh, Sqn. Ldr. Ankur Naik and Major Vikrant Khare. Col. D V Sheoran shared the life experiences of a soldier and motivated students to join Indian Army. Col. Deepak Singh focused on his bitter sweet experiences of Kargil War 1999. Sqn. Ldr. Ankur Naik motivated the viewers by sharing his experiences through riveting stories. Whereas, Major Vikrant Khare astonished the virtual audience by connecting Army experiences with civil life. 1000 plus viewers within an hour and chat box flooded with queries were the evidence of event’s success.

Dr. Rakesh Sharma Shared his views on the changing role of teacher with the use of ICT and blended learning. He said that switch over to online education is not by choice rather it has been forced over all the stakeholders by the prevailing pandemic situation. He also suggested Dr. Gaur to come up with at least two week progarmme here in teachers may be trained to be Technology friendly.
Dr. Karampal, said that there is a difference between online teaching and teaching online. These are two pole part things as online teaching requires lot of infrastructure and trained faculties. He focused on various challenges faced by different stakeholders be it teachers, Parents, students or government. Dr. Yograj shared his view said that India is a country wherein 80 % of the population is deprived of food and basic amenities and 20% are well equipped with gadgets so in country like India online education is not possible. He also said that education is not only about turning the pages of the book but also about meeting people and learning new things.
Dr. Sanjeev K. Sharma,V.C on a very positive note said that Indian higher education needs to think positively rather than materialistically. He emphasized that thinking is not only bound to online or offline as the situations may come and go , what is important is the learning. Dr. Sanjay Dhingra rightly said that teachers have adapted with the change of shift from offline to online teaching but the teachers need to put more of efforts to make class interactive. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director raised the issue of unequal divide of education and said that different views and policies and viewpoints are being given by central and state government but their must be adoption of one nation one policy. The discussions held will definitely pave the way for the future of Higher Education in India. In times to come the use of ICT and blended learning will change the face of education. Dr. R. S. Bawa emphasized on Technology, Innovation and Flexibility. Also, he mentioned that the concentrated effort of all the sections of the society is required and training of teachers and students is the demand of the time. Dr. G.S. Brar, showed his concern for govt. sectors who are not competent with technology and said that Covid -19 is a good opportunity to upgrade the system. Dr. Rajender K. Anayath threw light on digitalized post Covid-19 scenario and urged to learn digital technology. In his words, “Teacher robot will prepare the questions and evaluate. Research papers will be published by robots”. Dr. Tejinder Sharma focused on the need to enable and empower both faculty and students in the tough times such as this. Prof. Arun Kumar focused on the need of revolution in content development and suggested to use moodle as it contains many features to evaluate the students ‘performance.

The Theme for 18th July 2020 was “The Pedagogical Innovations in Higher Education – A shift from offline to online”. In Initial deliberation, Dr Bhawna Sharma (Asst. Professor) threw light on the 23 years long Journey of DAVIM and the efforts been put in by the Institute in the field of education during the COVID- 19 outbreak.

Dr. Jyoti Rana discussed that in taxonomy of online education, there is a need to understand the learning, management, course delivery part, demand and inclination towards short term courses or skill-based courses. She focused on the 3Rs, Re-strategising the whole situation, Re-imaging the whole operating order of the education and Re-defining the value proposition
Dr. Vikas Nath said that the things are changing fast as there are various new software being introduced to help the teachers and students. AICTE is also offering various schemes to upgrade the infrastructure of the institutions.
Prof. Pradeep K. Ahlawat focused on the technological innovations and improvisation as it has always brought improvement in life of human beings. Universities, UGC, AICTE and other statutory bodies also need to redesign curriculum to be imparted technologically.
Dr. Namita Rajput drew the attention of everyone towards the challenges in front of the universities as every institution is not fully equipped with the facilities for effective teaching and evaluating the outcome. Head of the institutions should move further for MOUs with IT organisations.
Dr. Raj Kumar Mahajan emphasised on the challenges during pandemic like admissions and start of classes. Training of teachers and students as per technological need as well as Health and Hygiene condition are the requirement of the new system. He talked about CoCube software that could be the solution for conducting online examination in an effective way.
Dr. Ravinder Kumar discussed about conducting the online examination, a challenging task due to lack of facilities. Even conducting offline exam is also a big challenge due to lack of space and issue of social distancing. He suggested that Google classroom can be used for online test, online quizzes, and online viva voce and emphasised that it should be a balanced approach for the online mode.
Dr. Neeraj Chandok talked about how 21st century classroom learners are different from 20th century learners. He focused on the 3E’s namely Education, Engagement and Entertainment. The students are made to feel valued and there must be strong bond between the teacher and the learner.
On behalf of the audience, Dr. Hema Gulati (Dean- Curriculum Coordination), Dr. Gurjeet Kaur ( Dean -Out Reach Programmes), Dr. Anjali Ahuja (Dean -Training Programmes) raised relevant queries from the chat box and Facebook in front of the panelist. All the panelist effectively and efficiently handled the queries.
Sh. He focused on sustainable development and goals of sustainable development. He talked about major issues of ease of living in rural and urban areas. He focused on four pillars of ease of living index – Institutional, economic, social and physical. They suggested that one must do a bit to manage stress like accepting that there are events that you cannot control, exercise regularly to remain fit, Eat healthy and well-balanced meals , Learn to manage your time more effectively ,Set limits appropriately and learn to say no to requests that would create excessive stress in your life, Make time for hobbies, interests, and relaxation, Get enough rest and sleep ,recover from stressful events , Don't rely on alcohol, drugs, or compulsive behaviors to reduce stress, Seek out social support ,Spend enough time with those you enjoy, Be assertive instead of aggressive , Learn and practice relaxation techniques.

On the occasion of 6th International Yoga Day the Centre for Environment in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), NSS and NCC of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad commemorated this Day on 21st June 2020 on Virtual Platform. The trainer of the day Ms. Chanda Bhardwaj is an alumnus of DAVIM and Founder of Brahma Yoga Foundation. She is a professional Yoga Trainer. The session began with warm up and Surya Namaskar followed by some Asanas, Kriyas, Mudras and Pranayam which helped the faculty, staff and students to get energized and de-stress themselves.
Accepting the new normal, DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad also initiated a web talk series, w.e.f 16th June 2020 to 24th June 2020 showcasing different courses of the Institute. Day after day Web-Talk of all the courses of DAVIM viz.- MBA, MCA, BBE, BBA(II), BBA, BCA, BBA(CAM), B.Sc. (Hons.) Comp. Sc. were organised using the social media platforms like Facebook and Webex, to make the audience aware about the courses.
In the web talk series, the opening remarks were given by Dr. Neelam Gulati, (Dean Academics). She addressed the audience with her enlightening words. Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, the Principal Director of DAVIM, acquainted the audience and inspired them by mentioning the importance of management concepts, digital and technological knowledge and highlighted the opportunities waiting for them in respective field(s). Each day one course was presented by the concerned department and team, followed by presentation on Training and Placement activities given by Mr. Harish Verma, Training and development consultancy cell that functions the entire year to help students for getting good trainings and placements. Also information about different centres/clubs like Rotaract, NSS, NCC, Patriotic Club, Centre for environment and add-on courses was befittingly shared.
During the programme the chat box popped with the queries raised by the audience regarding the respective course, which were taken by eminent faculties of DAVIM. Each session received an overwhelming response with approximately more than 900 viewers within hours. Lots of queries were solved via Google forms as the E-desk of DAVIM has been initiated by DAVIM’s counselling department.

Dr. Divya discussed about teaching Learning Practices during COVI-19. She also provided list etiquettes to students while attending online classes.
On Day 3 Dr. Mridul Maheswari spoke on ‘Trading off Learning and Performance’ and explained new skills to students to make their mark in Business world.
On the last Day of webinar lecture series Prof Tajinder Sharma discussed about ‘Rebuilding Economy after COVID-19’. He provided some interesting Data about Indian Economy and related future trends. Prof. Harbhajan Bansal mark his presence to give concluding remarks for the webinar lecture series.
