" Ordinary People Performing Extra Ordinary Feats "

Continued excellence of DAVIM students and their University positions are exemplary and are mainly accomplished by the strength and support of library which is well organized, systematic, equipped with latest content both in physical as well as in electronic form. “Vidya Library Management Software” is the really helpful tool used as Library Management Software. VLMS is a Web based system which is having user friendly interface, reliability, easy to customize, wide range features, and gives high level of security. Staff and students may access book availability 24/7 from anywhere. Computers of all the four library halls are well connected with Local Area Network (Star topology). The library is well equipped with more than 50,000 books, 63 periodical national and international journals, 39 weekly/monthly magazines both in physical as well as electronic form.

Following are the facilities provided by Library Department:

DAVIM avails the services of DELNET, an online resource repository which provides an array of library services on-line. The faculty and students avail the services through library membership only. DELNET collects, stores, and disseminates information besides offering computerized services to users, to coordinate efforts for suitable collection development and also to reduce unnecessary duplication wherever possible. DELNET'S relentless efforts in resource sharing have proved extremely effective.
It has contributed a lot towards the modernization of libraries in India.
Book Bank : DAVIM maintains a book bank in library where every student can get the books issued on returnable basis for each semester.

Sangrah (The Collection) : The institute has departmental libraries in addition to the main library from where the students can have access to additional resources.

Periodeicals : DAVIM is having a huge collection of national/international journals and business/computer magazines. There is a separate periodical section for user to take full advantage of it.

OPAC - On-line Public Access facility allows search based on book details, faculty details, and student details. This e-cataloguing is essential as well as a quality tool for higher education, the VLMS.

Information Board – Information Board is constantly updated with content to encourage students to read beyond their curriculum.

Circulation - Computerized Book circulation counter is made available to issue, return and renewal of books.

Coordination – Coordination with faculty is both a constant and multidisciplinary approach adhered to by library department for its up gradation.
1. It interacts with faculty for adding new editions of journals, books, books for special references, both for the curriculum and beyond.
2. It promotes the culture of Publisher – Faculty interaction wherein faculty can recommend complementary copies and publish their own books. This coordination is an important culture which has promoted and resulted in good publications and strengthened their instruction, research and extension.
