Gandhi Jayanti on October 2nd is the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who is the Father of the Nation and a pioneer of non-violence and truth. At DAVIM, Extracurricular Activity Department organized an intra college E-Collage competition on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The theme of collage making was Bapu’s Life and his struggle for Freedom. The day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm as the students of undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses prepared beautiful collages based on Gandhiji’s Life. The extracurricular activity department headed by Dr. Parul Nagi along with her team members briefed the participants about the significance of the collage, which included the magazine & newspaper clippings as well as artwork using online photos. The criteria of judgement were based on creativity, aesthetics, content appropriateness as well as events covered by the participants. All the creative collages were judged by Ms. Reema Nangia, Dr. Meera Arora and Dr. Anjali Ahuja.
In E-collage competition, the first position was bagged by Ms. Geeta Rani (MCA, 5th sem), the second winner was Ms. Pooja Verma (Bsc Hns CS, 3rd Sem), and the third position was held by Ms. Sweety Bhati (MCA, 5th Sem). The winners were issued e-certificates by the Cultural Department.
DAVIM NSS Team conducted an E-quiz competition in which 1102 students participated across the country on the successful completion of which, e- certificates were issued to the participants who scored above 60% in the E-quiz.
Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director, DAVIM, congratulated Dr. Parul Nagi (Convenor, Extracurricular Deptt) and team members- Dr. Rashmi Bhargava, Dr. Shobha Bhatia, Ms.Poonam Singh, Ms. Ritu Gautam and Ms. Kanika Duggal as well as the winners of the event for their remarkable efforts. Dr. Sharma also praised the efforts of Mr. Sachin Narula, the coordinator of the E-Quiz Competition and Dr. Hema Gulati for extending media support as well as Mr. Harish Rawat for social media support.
Observance of Vigilance Awareness Week every year during the last week of October is taken up to encourage all stakeholders to collectively participate in the prevention of, and the fight against corruption and to raise public awareness regarding the existence, causes and gravity of and the threat posed by corruption. In 2020, the Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from 27th October to 2nd November, 2020 with the theme, “सतर्क भारत, समृद्ध भारत - Satark Bharat, Samriddh Bharat (Vigilant India, Prosperous India)”. This awareness week campaign affirms our commitment to promotion of integrity and probity in public life through citizen participation.
In view of the foregoing, an Online Poster Making Competition was organized by the joint efforts of Holistic Growth Department headed by Dr. Rashmi Bhargava and Extra Curricular Department headed by Dr. Parul Nagi of DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad under the guidance of Principal Director, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and Registrar, Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora. The event was sponsored by NHPC Ltd which granted considerable sum of money as a reward to the winners. The judges of the event were Dr. Meera Wadhwa, Dr. Anjali Ahuja and Ms Priti Bali.
The first prize of Rs. 2500 was bagged by Geetanshu Verma (BBE, 5th Semester). The second prize of Rs. 2000 and third prize of Rs. 1500 were collected by Nisha Kushwaha (MBA, 3rd Semester) & Divyank Joshi (B.SC Hons., 3rd Semester) respectively. Whereas, the consolation prize of Rs. 1000 was given to Geeta Rani (MCA, 5th Semester), Shweta Baghel (BBE, 5th Semester) and Prashant Kumar (B.SC Hons., 3rd Semester).
Teej festival is a yearly celebration that marks the advent of monsoons or sawan. It is also called the festival of swings. Teej festival is associated with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The festival of Teej is synonymous with mehndi adorned palms, flowers, bangles, bandhani dupattas and mouth watering ghevar. In DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, Teej celebrations were organized on 2nd August’2019 by Extra Curricular Department headed by Dr. Parul Nagi with her dedicated team members Dr. Rashmi Bhargava, Dr. Shobha Bhatia, Ms. Ritu Gautam and Ms. Kanika Duggal. The students participated in Teej Fair with all the enthusiasm. A Teej Mela was set up in the college auditorium with different food stalls as well as heena stalls. Students had fun as they participated in various competitions like Rangoli, Mehandi, singing & dancing on teej folk songs. The faculty members were also very excited and keen to apply heena on their hands and getting their photographs clicked on the swings. There was a ramp walk and best costume competition which was organized for faculty members. All the faculties had a feast of ghevar in the festive atmosphere. The event was a grand success and a learning experience for the students.
The Independence Day was celebrated with full energy, thrill and vigour in DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad. The college celebrated this auspicious day with great enthusiasm and proudness on 14th August’2019. The event namely, Jashn-E-Azaadi, was organized by Patriots Club in collaboration with Extracurricular Activity Department. The event commenced with lamp lighting ceremony as a tribute to Goddess Saraswati, by Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora (Vice Principal, DAVIM), Dr. Neelam Gulati (Dean- Academics), Dr. Anjali Ahuja (Convenor, Patriots Club), Dr. Parul Nagi (Dean- Extra curricular Activity Deptt) and other faculty members. Before the event started, the Vice Principal Dr. Ritu gave an impressive and powerful speech. She encouraged the students to inculcate in them the greatness of Mahatma Gandhi and wisdom of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. She also welcomed the Chief Guest Ms. Nupur Adhlakha (Principal, GoldField School) and Dr. Neelam Gulati (Dean, Academics) felicitated the Guest of honour Retd. Major B.S.Yadav (Indian Army) by giving them with a potted plant. Major B.S. Yadav shared his real life experiences with the students and he also talked about his struggles being in Indian Armed Forces which were really inspiring and motivating for the students. A series of themebased events like Face Painting, Rangoli Competition, Best out of waste competition, solo singing competition, solo Folk dance competition, Poster making competition, group dance competition took place as students showcased their talents and abilities with full enthusiasm. The cultural spirit among the students made them perform on stage with songs full of patriotism and it was flourished with various traditional forms. After all events ended, the results of various competitions were announced by the organizing team and the respective jury distributed the certificates to the winners. The day marked a successful celebration of independence and due homage and honour expressed towards the people who played their part in the independence of the country. In the end, Dr. Anjali Ahuja (Convenor, Patriots Club) gave a vote of thanks and reminded the students and the faculty members of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and made everyone take pledge that we would serve our motherland, India with heart, body, and soul to bring it glory and laurels with our dignified deeds.
We celebrate Teachers’ day every year throughout the country on 5th September. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan – the second President of India who was a great academic philosopher and one of the most well-known diplomat, scholar and above all a teacher.
In DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, Teacher’s Day Celebration was organized in Tarang Auditorium by Extra Curricular Department headed by Dr. Parul Nagi in collaboration with Student Welfare Department headed by Ms. Reema Nangia. The celebration began with the dance performance on Ganesh Vandana by a student of BBA (BE) course which was followed by a welcome song by a student of B.Sc CS(Hns). The song was dedicated to the relationship between a child and a teacher who are considered to be the second parents of students. The Vice Principal, Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora addressed all the teachers with her inspiring words. She thanked all the teachers for their diligence, sincerity and hardwork. Thereafter, few students gave lively folk dance performances as a token of love for their teachers. Furthermore, teachers indulged in fun filled activities that marked the celebration. They sang and danced on the beats of live Dhol creating memories to cherish forever. The day came to an end with the sumptuous lunch hosted by the college management.
Vigilance week was conducted by Department of Holistic Growth, DAVIM in association with NHPC with the theme ‘Integrity-A way of life’ , on 2nd November 2019 to promote moral values, ethics, good governance etc. Essay Writing Competition, Poster Making Competition and Declamation Competition were conducted in the institute under the vigilance week celebration. Dr Sanjeev Sharma, Principal, DAVIM welcomed the guest of the day Mr S.N.Natarajan (GM, NHPC) with a potted plant. Dr Sanjeev Sharma addressed the students and motivated the students to be more more ethical and to embibe human values in them. Other officials from NHPC i.e. Mr B.B. Sethi, Mr Satbati and Mr. Kamal Sangra also marked their presence to encourage and motivate the students. Dr Rashmi Bhargava,(Dean, Department of Holistic Growth) and other faculty members welcomed the other guests of the day. Mr Natarajan, Chief guest also addressed the gathering and threw light upon the importance of vigilance week. The winners of the various competition held were awarded cash prizes and certificates by NHPC Ltd. Shweta Baghel bagged first prize in Poster Making Competetion, Sarisha secured first position in essay writing competition and Vipin got first position in declamation competition. Preeti Goyal, Sweety Bhati, Geeta, Sagar Bansal, and Hemant Dagar of MCA 3rd semester participated and awarded certificates in Poster Making Competition.
Maharishi Dayanand University Rohtak organised Zonal Youth Festival in Sheila Devi Institute of Mgt & Technology Tigaon for Gurugram Zone from 9TH Nov 2019 to 11TH Nov 2019, in which DAV Institute of Mgt Faridabad participated in the following 8 events – Elocution, Debate Hindi and English, Poetry Hindi & Urdu, Rangoli, Poster Making and Sanskrit shloka uchharan, accompanied by Dean Cultural Dr. Parul Nagi and Contingent Incharge Mr. Harish Verma. Out of which our Institute won 2ND Position in Elocution and 3RD position in Poster Making. The students were awarded with certificates, silver and bronze medal and cash prize of Rs 450 and Rs 400 respectively.
Further the prize-winning teams participated in the Inter – Zonal Youth Festival which was held & organized at Maharishi Dayanand University Rohtak from 13TH Nov 2019 to 15TH Nov 2019, in which our institute won 3RD Position in Poster Making competition. The student was awarded with certificate, bronze medal and cash prize of Rs 550.
It is pertinent to mention here that though the institution participated after the gap of a couple of years, it was due to the motivation and support of Principal / Director Dr. Sanjeev Sharma and hard work put in by the team members of the cultural dept and its Dean. The Dept. congratulates Anusha BCA 2ND yr and Shwetha BBA(BE) 2ND yr and acknowledges the zeal and spirit of other participants - Shivam MCA 3RD yr, Vipin BBA(BE) 2ND yr, Vikas BBA(II) 2ND yr, Richa MCA 3RD yr, Uzma MBA 2ND yr and Ashika BBA 3RD yr.
Dr. Sanjeev Sharma, Principal Director DAVIM, motivated the students and appreciated the efforts of the cultural team and hoped that in future many more prizes would be won.
In DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, “Youth Voters Festival” was organized as per the direction of District Election Office, Faridabad in Tarang Auditorium by Extra Curricular Department headed by Dr. Parul Nagi in collaboration with Electrol club headed by Mr. Sanjeev Kumar. Poster making competition was conducted on the theme "Electoral literacy for strong democracy" on 25th January 2020 to spread the awareness amongst the youth about the importance of casting the vote in right way, in which various students from all the departments of the institute participated and were awarded.
The event was very informative and was a great success.
DAV Institute of Management came up with an idea to acknowledge the relation that a student and teacher share on Day i.e 5th September 2018. A banner was placed in the institute wherein, students were requested to mention a message for their favorite teacher along with their name and class details. Students put their best thoughts into writing and appreciated their favorite teachers. It was a proud moment for the teachers. It is truly said
“Everyone who remembers his own education remembers teachers, not methods and techniques. The teacher is the heart of the educational system.”
DAVIM celebrated its 21st Foundation Day with great fervor and enthusiasm on 12th October 2018. It was a special day when the entire Institute had a chance to reflect upon and get nostalgic about the beginning days, its founders- Shri A.R.Kohli, Shri. Suresh Narang and Late Shri Neelkanth Sharma.
Dr. Neelam Gulati the Head of the Institute remembered her mentors and wished that she may always follow the path of truthfulness paved for by her seniors. She also talked about the significant development since the Institute’s inception. She postulated, “It is a day set aside to celebrate our history and revisit and reconnect with the continuing journey of the Institute. We celebrate that we are blessed with such beautiful people who have been working in the Institute since its inception and ardently obedient students who have made us all proud by their achievements. We celebrate the joy of learning as we develop in mind, body and spirit, and we celebrate the bond that we share with past and present members of the DAV Institute of Management’s Family. We honor our Founding Fathers as we reflect on the commitment, resilience and dedication they displayed to see their vision of a temple of knowledge which would provide education to one and all without any disparity.” She also paid respect to the President of DAVCMC, Padam Shri recipient, Shri PunamSuriji and Vice President Shri PrabodhMahajanji who have been her guiding force in her long endeavor in making the Institute the best amongst all in NCR. She also gave an inspiring message to all, for the upcoming festival Dusherra, “Truth always prevails. It always wins in the end because it can never be destroyed, whereas lies are built on a fragile structure that can always be undermined by an eventual recognition of the truth. Sometimes truth may get enveloped with the destroying forces, yet, ultimately it will be shown as there are pains taken to bring it to light.” To celebrate the historical day, DAVIM was decked up with marigold flowers all around and various competitions were organized by the Student Welfare Department and the team of Faculty members of Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses. Mimicry, Volta Face, Antakshari, Best out of waste, Gift packing, Rangoli ,Mehandi, DAVIM chef- Recipe making, Sketching, Face painting and Showcasing of IT Projects—a step towards the initiative begun by our honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narender Modi- Digital India-was also included. The winners in the various events were honored by the Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, honorable Judges and the senior faculty members. The complete staff of the Institute was beaming with happiness and excitement and the positive energy proliferated from the Hawan Ceremony bestowed on one and all in the hope of much more contented and optimistic future ahead.
On 31st October 2018, to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel as “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas”, all the students and faculty of DAVIM, gathered in the presence of Head of institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati and pledged to dedicate themselves to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation and to contribute to ensure internal security in spirit of unification of the country.
Centre for Environment DAVIM in collaboration with student welfare department celebrated the festival of lights and oneness by organizing Diwali Mela on 3rd November 2018 in the institute. The students and faculty participated in the event by organizing and enjoying various stalls of food and decorative items for diwali. Students from Roshni NGO have always been a part of DAVIM celebrations and this year as well they were all invited and participated in the mela with full zeal. Head of the institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati motivated the students for GREEN DIWALI by taking pledge along with students and faculty members. Chief guests Ms. Seema Trikha and Mr. Manoj Naswa appreciated the efforts of the students, centre for environment DAVIM and student welfare department for making this event a success and further motivated for celebrating cracker free diwali.

DAVIM had organized Vigilance week with the theme “Eradicate Corruption- Build a New India” in association with NHPC under the aegis of Central Vigilance Commission from 29th October- 3rd November 2018, to mark the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who stood for united and corruption free India. The event was graced by Shri. Pallav, SM (Fin.) NHPC and Shri Prabhash Kumar Jha, Manager Civil Vigilance Division NHPC, Shrimati Shalini Mittal, Deputy Manager Finance, Vigilance Division NHPC. Dr. Neelam Gulati the Head of the Institute welcomed and expressed her gratitude for selecting DAVIM each year to conduct such awareness campaigns. The event was marked by declamation contest on 3rd November. Poster making and Essay writing competition, both in English and Hindi, were also held on 2nd November in the premises of the Institute. The winners were awarded cash prizes, Rs. 2500, Rs 1500 and Rs. 1000 for 1st,2nd and 3rd position 3 consolation prizes for Rs. 500 each in each category along with the certificates by the guests at the end of the event. A pledge was taken by the Guests, Organizers and the students to voice their concern over any kind of corruption they face or see happening around them. The event culminated with the organizers, Dr. Anjali Ahuja, Director UG courses and Dr. Rashmi Bhargava, Director IT courses thanking the team of NHPC for their cooperation in organizing such a mega event in the Institute’s premises.
On 29th January’ 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad’s auditorium Tarang, the students of MBA and MCA attended an online - live session “Pariksha Pe Charcha” wherein Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi interacted with a number of Students, Teachers and Parents across the country and abroad and shared his personal experiences with them. He addressed the students as future of India. He suggested students not to get stressed as life is more than just exams. The emphasis should be on knowledge not a run after the marks. He asked parents not to expect their children to fulfill their unfulfilled dreams. It is important to understand the strengths of their child. He also emphasized that technology should be used by students as mean to innovation. He reiterated that parents should motivate the kids to move away from play-station to the actual playground. He also discussed the concerns of the students and reassured them about the improvement of the examination system. This session was attended by 73 students and 6 faculty members of MBA and MCA programme.

Sri Krishan Pal Gujjar, Minister of State for Social Justice and empowerment along with Sri Prabodh Mahajan, Vice President, DAVCMC inaugurated the meet. It was flagged off by March past in which all the students of UG and PG courses participated. Then tricolor balloons were blown off. In this event Asian Games 2018 silver medalist of trap shooter, Lakshay Sheoran was also invited. He lead the oath along with all the students. All the students took an oath that they will participate in all the events, they will follow all the rules and for the institute they will play with all the emotions. Sri Krishanpal Gujjar showered his blessings to all the students. For both staff and students, various kinds of athletic events were there such as 100,200,400 mts race, long jump, shotput, relay race along with fun games like tug of war, sack race, spoon lemon race, three legged race and musical chairs. Smt. Seema Trikha, Member of Legislative Assembly performed the Valedictory ceremony. The Principal Director of the institute, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma encouraged the youth for their future participation. He emphasized that sports is an essential part of education and we must play at least one game. For any institution, its Foundation Day is a day set aside to celebrate it’s history and revisit and reconnect with the continuing journey of the Institute. DAVIM celebrated its 20th Foundation Day on 12th October 2017.The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, along with the devoted faculty members and ardent students celebrated the Foundation Day by taking a pledge to safeguard the environment by not bursting crackers on Diwali .They vowed that instead of that they would illuminate lives by distributing goodies not only amongst their friends , but also among the needy .As DAVIM celebrated its bond with the Past, Present and the Future, it expressed solidarity in maintaining the beauty and the vitality of the most precious gift to humanity from nature- Trees. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, appreciated the ‘Unity of thought’ of all and hope that all would follow the oath and would be encouraged by their pledge to work for saving the environment all the year round.
Mr. Rajan Chandra, the Head of Administration and International Business, was accorded a warm and affectionate farewell by the faculty members and was wished a happy and healthy post-retirement life. The employees who consider DAVIM a family got emotional at the event and many senior members gave heartfelt speeches and wished him luck for all his future endeavors.
DAVIM hosted a flute concert on 27th July 2017 , organized by Spic Macay in collaboration with Haryana government as a part of the Haryana Government’s Swaran Jayanti Celebration. The Mayor of Faridabad , Mrs. Suman Bala, was the Chief guest. Pt. Rajendra Prassana, a renowned Indian Flautist and Shehnai artist of Hindustani Classical Music from Benares Gharana, was the performer of the day who was accompanied by his team comprising, a pristine Tabla player, Shri. Abhishek Mishra and flawless Tanpora player, Shri Shahzad Rashid. Pt. Prassana, has not only achieved accolades nationally, but also internationally . Mrs. Suman Bala appreciated the efforts of the institute and the organizers, Dr. Ruchi Arora, Associate Professor and Dr. Juhi Kohli of DAVIM for organizing such a cultural event which made the students develop an interest towards the inclusive culture of India. DAVIM’s Tarang Auditorium was packed to its capacity and the audience was left spellbound by the Jugalbandi of Flute maestro, Pt. Prassana, and his Tabla player , Shri Abhishek Mishra. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, was thankful to the organizers and the guests for making everybody’s day blissful and entertaining.
DAVIM hosted a cultural show, in collaboration with Spic Macay, on 5th September 2017. Teachers’ day is an ode to Dr. Radha Krishnan as it symbolizes his selfless work towards education and the theme of the cultural event at DAVIM was also “Selfless Service”. The event was organized by the efforts of Dr. Ruchi Arora, Associate Professor, and Dr. Juhi Kohli . The work of both the Chief Guest Mr. Jagdish Sehdev , M.D. JRS Impex Pvt Ltd, Director, ADA Cell and Chairman of Seed Foundation and a proud member of the Rotary Club of Faridabad, and the Kathak performer of the day, Ms. Ipshita Chatterjee, from Spic Macay is fine example of “ Selfless Service”. Mr.Anil Kumar, from AKB, Institute of Finance and Management was also present. Once the scintillating performance of Ms. Ipshita Chatterjee began, the audience was spellbound by the mesmering ‘storyteller’- kathak kalakar. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, wished the teachers on the auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day and encouraged the students to indulge in Selfless service - Nishkama Seva and set an example for others to follow. She also made the students realize the importance of valuing the teachings of the gurus as they nurture the students so that they can have bright future.
DAVIM’s MCA Department, in association with SIDBI, organized extempore and slogan writing competition on account of the Vigilance Week and the topic was “ How to realize the dream of Corruption Free India?”. ACP Rajesh Chechi was the Chief Guest and Sh. Rishi Dwivedi, GM, Faridabad Regional Officer, Smt. Uma Pandey Shukla, Dy. General Manager and Regional Vigilance Officer, Faridabad, and Mrs. Sunita Murthy from SIDBI were the Guests of Honour. ACP Rajest Chechi observed that corruption is not only about giving or taking money. It includes all actions where processes are being compromised.The representatives of SIDBI also spoke about the prevalence of Corruption in almost all spheres of work in the country and suggested that the government and the citizens have to work and walk hand-in-hand to curb this menace , so that we can gift the future generations a corruption-free country. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati quoted some examples from her own life where she had suffered because of corruption and said that she strongly opposed the same. She said that she too believed that if we all trust our efforts we can achieve the unsurpassable. The event culminated in the Prize Distribution Ceremony where in the winners of the programme were, Tanshi, B.B.A (Management) 3rd Semester in Extempore and Neha Makkar from B.B.A.(C.A.M) 5th Semester in Slogan Writing Competition. It was an enriching and stimulating session for the students where in they felt that they need to do their bit for making the country corruption free.
To break the cycle of traditional study days, the Student Welfare Department along with the UG and PG Courses of DAVIM organized a ‘Talent Fiesta’ for its effervescent students where there were myriad activities to participate in like ‘Trip the Light’, ‘ Singing Bee’, ‘Copy Cat’ ‘Hamara Neta’ ‘Honest art’ ‘Kabad Se Jugad’, ‘Heena Ke Rang’, ‘Master Chef’, ‘Debate Competition’, ‘Sketch Making’, ‘Face Painting’ and many more. The aroma of delicious food in the air with countless stalls put up by the zestful students mesmerized everyone. Ms. Renu Bhatia, BJP member, was the Chief Guest and was delighted to be amongst the students during the festive season and reminded them all of the importance of a smokeless Diwali. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, was all praise for the organizers and the faculty who worked as a team to make the students unleashed their inhibitions and come forward to showcase their talent. She advised the students to enjoy crackerless Diwali and experience the joy . Divya, Muskaan and Subhashree of the BBE Department came first in Master chef, Tanshi Sikka of BBA bagged the first prize in Voltae Face, Mukul of BBA showed his panache for dancing by bagging the first position in Solo Dance , Kavita from MCA demonstrated her Mehndi Art by standing first in ‘Heena ke Rang’ Competition, BCA group of four students- Jagriti, Rinki, Jaspinder and Karandeep- beautified the corridor of DAVIM with their magnificent Rangoli and came first, Jatin from BBA stood tall at the first position with his mimicry skills, Garima from BBE showcased her skills in ‘Best Out of Waste’ and stood first, and Vishaka from B.CAM stood first in Gift Wrapping, Kumkum from BBA showed her fine art and came first in Sketch Making. The event ended successfully with the audience taking a solemn pledge to celebrate a smokeless Diwali.
SWARANJALI-II Singing Competition Carnival was organized on 3rd February,2018, in the Tarang auditorium where the students manifested their singing prowess with great patriotic fervor. The students participated with complete zeal and enthusiasm and the auditorium reverberated with the patriotic songs sung by the students where all got nostalgic about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and also sang songs in praise of the army protecting our borders. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, encouraged the youth by asserting that patriotism doesn’t mean blindly following the conventional idea of loving the nation, it means that one owns up and takes responsibilities seriously and show ones love by making the nation better in whatever way one can. Her speech was followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony .In Solo Song Category, Bhanu Siwach from B.B.A (General) and Arshdeep Kaur from B.B.E bagged the first Prize, followed by Krishan Sharma from B.B.A (C.A.M) as first runner up and Vaibhav Sharma from B.B.A (General) and Gunjan from M.C.A as Second runner ups. In duet category, Arshdeep Kaur and S. Subhashiri from the B.B.E Department came first. The celebrations culminated with the singing of the National Anthem.
“Hide not your talents, they for use were made, what’s a sundial in the shade?” ― Benjamin Franklin DAV Institute of Management believes in encouraging the talent of the budding artists and inspiring others to follow. And it gives ample opportunities to its new students to make a mark for themselves and manifest their acumen in myriad arts. DAVIM organized “Talent Fiesta”, for its first year students from 26th July 2016 to 30th July 2016 in the Institute premises where the UG students were given a chance to showcase their singing, dancing, and mimicry prowess. The DAVIM auditorium resounded with claps, foot tapping dance numbers and people were in splits on watching the students mimic bollywood stars and politicians. The freshers participated with total zeal and exhibited their panache for entertainment.
Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) was introduced by the Government of India and inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. The intent is to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was instrumental in keeping India united. It is celebrated on 31st October every year as the annual commemoration of the birthday of the Iron Man of India Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, As Customary, DAVIM too took the virtuous step of celebrating this day by organizing a Poster Making Competition for the students on the topic “Shresth Bharat (Foremost India)”. Speaking on the occasion the head of the institute postulated that National Unity Day will provide an opportunity to re-affirm the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand the actual and potential threats to the unity, integrity and security of our country. Dr. Neelam Gulati along with the faculty members and the students took an oath to follow the principles of unity.
Students at DAVIM were the very embodiment of fine talent, enthusiasm, charismatic beauty and rocking music on Saturday, 18th February, when they all participated in the fashion show and recreated the magic of the retro era. The students took everyone from the bygone era of 1950s to 1970s with their mesmerizing beauty, various vibrant hues and attractive hairstyle. Ms. Renu Bhatia, the spokesperson of BJP, a dynamic socialite whose achievements and life is itself an epitome of grit and determination, was the chief guest.. She motivated the students to follow their heart to achieve big in life.
The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, applauded the efforts of the students’ welfare department and all the academic and administrative departments who play a leading role in developing the all round personality of the students.The event ended with BBA II, BBACAM and MBA as the winning teams. Also gifts were given. The culmination of the show saw DAVIM’s GoodLuck Rockers Band performing and giving an enthralling end to the gala celebrations.
Women’s Day and Awaken- a Green Inititaive to protect the enviornment was jointly organized by the Centre for Enviornment and BBA.(B.E.) Department at DAVIM on 8th March 2017. The Head of the Institute , Dr. Neelam Gulati, is the Chief Patron of Centre for Enviornment . The organizing committee had arranged for a Presentation Competition on Green Initiative and 30 teams participated in the same. Some participants were from the Institute and some from other institutes like K.L.Mehta Dayanand College, I.M.T, Faridabad, Rawal Institute, Faridabad, DAV Centanary College and many more. The institute was adorned with Rangoli’s made as a part of the Rangoli Competition organized by B.B.A. (C.A.M) department on the theme- "Bold and Courage". The Honourable Guest, Mr. Surender Punia, XEN, horticulture, MCF, encouraged the students to grow more and more trees and be a “gardener” to be always happy.
The guest of honour, Ms. Jaya Goel, Chairperson of Women Enterpreneurship, “I Am SME Of India” invited the girls and the faculty to join hands to do their bit for developing MSMEs and Dr. Anisha Sehpathi motivated the students to follow their dreams and never say no to any work as Learning a lifelong process. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and herself presented PPTs on some unbelievable stories of women who have beaten impossible odds and have come out as warriors by proving the stereotypes wrong with their unfathomable power. And hence she enlightened the minds of the girls not to be bound in any kind of stereotypes and come out with free minds and venture into the world. The programme culminated with the Prize Distribution Ceremony.
An Inter-Department Debate Competition was organized by Power Grid Corporation, a govt. organization in collaboration with the M.C.A Department on 3rd November 2016.The topic of the debate was “Can India Be Corruption Free” and the Chief Guest was Mr. H. C. Lodha, DGM Power Grid. The AGM, Mr. Anoop Singh, was also present at the event to encourage the students.
The judges of the competition were Dr. Sarita Kaushik , Dr. Ritu Arora and Dr.Sunita Bishnoi.The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, spoke to the audience and stressed that the corruption of the country can be defeated by the “goodness of the youth.” She also suggested that the participation of the youth could bring about a drastic and effective transformation of the country and help in making India corruption-free.
Merrymaking on various occasions is the soul of the DAV Institute of Management. At DAVIM , all believe in living a contented life that consists of celebrations of all kinds and building cordial relations with all. Thus, continuing the spirit of the Teachers’ Day, DAVIM celebrated “Talent Fiesta” on 10th September 2016 for teachers where all came forward to shed their inhibitions and rock the stage. The vivacious teachers participated wholeheartedly in all the categories of the competition like Solo Song, Solo Dance, Group Dance and Group Song. A number of fun games were organized for the teachers to let them unwind for a day , get back to being children and exhibit great sportsmanship.
The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, congratulated the organizing committee for giving such a fantastic platform to the talented teachers to showcase their talent. She also shared her experience of so many years of being a teacher with her colleagues and staff and encouraged all to go beyond the classroom to leave a lasting impact on their students.
A Diwali Mela was organized on 22nd October 2016 at DAVIM to ignite the spirit of Diwali and the effervescent students put up various stalls like those of decorative candles and diyas, exuberant Diwali lighting, colorful Rangoli, mouth watering food items , creative T-shirt painting, Tambola game and other decoration items. The last but not the least the major attraction was of the lucky draw. The proceeds from the collection were donated to Roshni, an NGO for under-privileged children. Ms Seema Trikha, MLA, Badkhal , inaugurated the fair and appreciated the students for putting up the attractive stalls and their involvement in making this Diwali a gifted diwali for the Roshni students. Dr. Neelam Gulati also encouraged the students and hoped that every year the students of DAVIM, would come up with such commendable ideas and help the needy.
The staff of DAVIM got into the joyous and celebratory mood of Christmas and filled the day with various games and dances and rollicking performances. In a way, they all lived a day away from their busy schedule and like children soaked in the spirit of Christmas to the fullest. The celebration culminated with the cutting of a cake. Everybody shared an incident they knew of from the life of Jesus Christ which had inspired them a lot and the Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, urged them all to always follow the path of righteousness and peace to reach their goals in life and to show generosity towards all.
The main theme of Lohri is the belief that Lohri is the cultural celebration of the winter solstice. So, this merry making festival was celebrated with happiness to spread warmth and love to all, at DAVIM, on 13th January 2017 The students of the Roshni , an NGO presented dance performances, speeches on the reason behind celebrating Lohri, sang songs and expressed their love for the festival by enjoying the bonfire and dancing around it . They also participated in the Pooja ceremony. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, appreciated the students for putting up a nice show and distributed sweets of til, peanuts and jaggery.
