For the Training and Development of the UG students, learned people from various fields like Management, IT, Entertainment and Event Management were invited from 14th July 2016 to 30th July 2016 to make the students aware of the need of the job industry and also how to carve out a niche for themselves in the coming years in various industries. In this way DAVIM aims to make the students employable even before completing their Post Graduation. They suggested that the students should work with dedication and go in for skill development. The students took the learning seriously and were motivated to take steps towards becoming indispensable for their prospective organizations.
The in-house faculty members also conducted fruitful training sessions for the new students, thus enhancing their knowledge of various areas like Finance, Body Language, Whatsapp Satsang, IT and many more. The students were eager to turnover a new leaf by beginning their professional studies and in real earnest knowing more about the corporate world

This year the , DAV Institute of Management, stepped into its 20th glorious year. DAVIM always conducts theme based induction programmes. The induction of M.B.A and M.C.A, was conducted from 21st Aug to 24th August 2016.This year’s theme was “Life Beyond Campus”. It was power- packed with learning on the various aspects of Management and Life Skills. The learned people from the Industry, who enriched the minds of the budding managers, were Mr. Harshvardhan Pant, Head HR, Tikam shah Faridabad Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Prabhakar Tiwari, CMO of “Pay You” Payments Pvt. Ltd. And Mr. Manoj Kumar Bhatt and Mr. Sanjay Pandita from CASI Global New York who promote research and education in CSR and sustainability. The In-house faculty, Dr. Himanshu Singh and Ms. Deepali Grover, took sessions of Aptitude Tests and Self - Esteem and how to overcome the shortcomings, if any. Equally beneficial was the Induction of the MCA students, when IT Professionals opened up different insights of working in the IT organizations.
The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, gave a stirring speech in which she encouraged the students to leave no stone unturned in putting in efforts to excel in academics and also to keep themselves apprised d of the happenings around them so as to be able to become effective future managers. The Head of M.B.A and M.C.A. departments, Dr. Meera Wadhwa and Dr. Sarita kaushik, presented the vote of thanks and encouraged the students to build soft as well as technical skills as the world today requires people with both skills and knowledge.
The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient Indian text that became an important work of the Hindu tradition in terms of both literature and philosophy. And Geeta is such an incredible book because of its intrinsic value in solving the fundamental human problems that a session on “Bhagwat Gita and Its Learning” was organized at DAVIM for all the students so that they may be able to solve their day-to-day problems arising out of stress and complexities.
The facilitator, Mr. Ashutosh Bhardwaj, showed them how to live their life effectively. The chapters of Bhagavad Gita enabled them to realize their potential and taught them how to become mature and responsible persons.
FMA in collaboration with THE Delhi Management Association and D.A.V. Institute of Management took a unique initiative to organize an interactive session on “Organizational success with Transformational Leadership.” on 1st April 2017. Mr Sandeep Nagpal, C.E.O, Ladders HR was the Chief Speaker and gave the students an enriching session on the need and importance of Leadership Management and how a transformational leader can bring about a sea change in this competitive arena. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, thanked the organizers and postulated that charisma alone can’t make a leader worth following. He needs to be supportive and goal-oriented with a desire to be a learner throughout his life.
To commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas, ‘Reminiscence’ an Inter College Competition was organized in which events like Poster Making Competition (Srijan) and Hindi Poem Recitation Competition (Kavyanjali) were held. Plethora of entries from all over the North India were received which levelled up the competition. The theme of both the competitions was Kargil Vijay Diwas. In Poster Making Competition (Srijan) Heena Kapoor (DAVIM) bagged first prize, Mehak Gaur (DAV Centenary) and Pushpanjali Choudhary (DAVIM) were the first and second runner up respectively. Whereas, in Hindi Poem Recitation (Kavyanjali) there was a tie for first position which was bagged by Aashika Garg (DAVIM) and Vikas Silwani (DAVIM). The second and third position were held by Yugi Gupta (Lloyd Institute of Management & Technology) and Sweety Kashyap (DAV Centenary) respectively.
The FARIDABAD MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION in collaboration with DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad celebrated the AIMA Management Day in the hosts’ Tarang auditorium on 25th February.

The Faridabad chapter of NIRC of ICAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India) organized a seminar on “GEARING UP FOR GST -An attempt to educate all stakeholders for the smooth transition of GST” at the DAV Institute of Management, Faridabad, on 19th November, 2017. Mr. Himanshu Singla from Techno Shiksha ,took the session on how the youth can become more Self -Reliant and also talked to the students about Cyberoism. The in house faculty of DAVIM also took the sessions with the students on myriad topics such as Team work, Discipline, Hardwork, Self Awareness, Whatsapp Satsang, SWOT analysis, Happiness Index, Marketing Prowess, Positive Attitude, Body Language etc. and many took sessions on IT and Communication. To bring out the inner talent like, dance, singing, mimicry and others, ‘Talent Fiesta’ was organized .The winners were awarded with prizes and certificates. To motivate the students to excel in life and set ambitious goals for themselves, an autobiographical movie on the life of “BhudiyaSingh ”was shown .To make the students know more about Yoga and its benefits, Yoga sessions were organized in which the trainer trained the students in various asanas of Surya Namaskar. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, welcomed the students and talked to them on various occasions in the two weeks training programme. She postulated that these three years constitute the time when the students can overcome their inhibitions and widen their horizons and move ahead on the new path of Self Awareness. She tried to instill in the students the need to do their bit for saving the environment so as to give a better world to the generation younger to them. The two week session culminated successfully and the students were eager and ready to embark on a new journey – Campus Life.

Faridabad Management Association in collaboration with DAVIM celebrated Management Day on 24th February, 2018, at DAVIM. The session was on Personal Leadership. The eminent speakers of the day were Mr. Rakesh Seth , Senior Director-HR-Reecosyys, Mr. Anubh Maurya Walia, Founder Director- Prism Training, Mr. D.K.Bakshi, Chief Mentor & CEO, Global Talent Company Ltd. Bangkok& Former Vice President, Global Human Resources, Indorama Polymers Public Ltd, Bangkok. A book on Management was also released by Brigadier Dr.Sarbjit Singh. The Head of the Institute Dr. Neelam Gulati shared her views on Personal Leadership and said that, regardless of what one does within the organization or the current conditions of one’s life, it is absolutely essential for everyone to remember that we have the power to show leadership where we are planted and shine with brilliance in all that we do. DAV Institute of Management organized a Workshop in association with Faridabad Chapter of NIRC of ICSI on the Topic: GST- Path for Professionals on 29th July, 2017 (Saturday),atTarang Auditorium, DAV Institute of Management. The speakers of the day were CS Hitender Mehta (Partner, Vaish Associates Advocates), CA Manmohan Khemka (SAMYNK & CO. Chartered Accountants) and CA Bhawna (DAVIM, Faridabad)The workshop covered Applicability, Benefits and Challenges of GST and it’s Impact on Common Man. The participants included people from the industry, Members of ICSI, ICAI and Faculties from DAVIM and other colleges. Over 100 participants benefitted from the workshop. The program was sponsored by JVC Solutions. The Head of the Institute , Dr. Neelam Gulati , appreciated the efforts done by the organizer, CS Juhi Kohli, and thanked the speakers for devoting time and enriching the knowledge of the faculty on GST which she said was a new revolution in the Indian economy.
The professional courses department of DAVIM organized a seminar on ‘Analysis of Union Budget 2018’ on 9th February 2018 in the institute’s premises. The auditorium was decked up with the presence of intellectual dignitaries. Mrs. Urvashi Khurma, Senior Inspector and Auditor in Punjab National Bank was the Chief guest. CA Rajesh Kumar Khandelwal ,MCARitesh Khurana and CMA SachinKathuria were the speakers of the day. This Student Development Programme was attended by the Faculty members, M.B.A and B.B.E students. The speakers detailed on the budget, mentioning the benefits of the budget for the students, salaried employees, industries and companies.. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati encouraged the students to learn the intricacies of the Budget and make it a habit to save and invest as that’s the essence of managing and learning about finances. The faculty members and the students lend an eager ear to the talks made by the eminent speakers and also asked their queries linked with the budget.
The DAV Institute of Management in association with Faridabad Management Association (FMA) organized an enriching session on ‘Digitalization of Business Practices in the Current Scenario’ on 18th August, 2017. Mr.Thyagrajan, Director CRC Apeejay Satya University,was the man behind the organization of the MDP. Mr. Kaviraj Singh, M.D., Saralweb, the key speaker of the day, and Mr. Subhash Jagota, the C.E.O of Global Business Solutions, postulated on how the companies are moving forward with digital transformation at varying paces and experiencing varying levels of success and how the digital transformation is radically improving the performance and reach of enterprises across the globe. The Head of the Institute, Dr. Neelam Gulati, appreciated the efforts put in by FMA and thanked Mr. Thyagrajan for arranging such a valuable M.D.P at DAVIM and also thanked the speakers.
DAVIM organized a session on ‘Winning Management Thoughts’. The guest and the speaker of the day was Mr. J P Malhotra, President DLF Industries Association, and CEO of Bhartiya Valves Pvt. Ltd. The programme was organized by Dr. Sarita Kaushik and Dr. Meera Wadhwa of M.C.A and M.B.A Department respectively. He shared his valuable experience with the students and told them about the nuances of becoming an entrepreneur and winning the hearts of people by being kind as well as hardworking and heading towards the goal with complete dedication and intelligence. The Head of the Institute, Dr Neelam Gulati, observed that the institutes are imparting basic knowledge and skill, but the Industry-Institute Interaction will enable to undertake research by staff and students relevant to the industry. The programme culminated with Dr. Meera Wadhwa proposing the Vote of Thanks.
MDP on the topic “Financial Analysis for Non specialist” was conducted on 5th May 2018. The MDP was organized under the mentorship of our esteemed Principal Dr. Neelam Gulati. Dr Rashmi Bhargava and CA Bhawna Khatri were the convenor and the co-convenor of the programme. The Programme aimed to sharpen the skills of the participants with Financial tools and techniques of Planning, Decision Making and Controlling which are required to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing and increasingly competitive environment. The Key note speakers of the programme were CA Tajender Bhardwaj and CS Govind Mishra who from their vast and rich Industry experience in Finance Industry had thrown light upon the practical application of the various techniques in the organisation. Expert finance faculties of DAVIM namely, Dr Rashmi Bhargava, Dr Bhavna Sharma, CA Alka Narula, Ms Priyanka Gaur, Ms Neetu Juneja, CA Bhavna Khatri and Ms Archana Mittal took sessions on the topics related to Financial Analysis, Decision Making and Control to equip the participants with the relevant financial tools and techniques. 30 participants from the Industry working in the area of finance attended the programme.
The new academic session commenced with the regular 5 day induction programme from 23rd-27th July, 2018 for Undergraduate Management and IT courses for Batch 2018-2021 organised under by Management and Information Technology Club and also supported by Gatividhi Club. The activity is conducted under the guidance of Dr. Anjali Bhakhar(Dean UG Management courses) and Dr. Rashmi Bhargava(Dean UG IT Courses). At the beginning of the new session the institute organized auspicious Havan ceremony for Faculty members and students to help them understand the values of Dayanand Anglo Vedic Culture in the campus.
The Head of the Institute Dr. Neelam Gulati welcomed the students to the institute and motivated them to work with focus towards their life goals. Ms. Bhumika Pahwa and Ms. Esha Khanna, while delivering the welcome address focused on the DAV philosophy and shared the three piece advice to students to work towards the new phase of life i.e To take the responsibility for your learning, Make the most of your time at the college and Embrace the Difference as ‘Knowing others and understanding others will help to develop as tolerant individuals’. The session was followed by the address of Ms. Neha Sharma and Ms. Archana Mittal from Centre for Environment, DAVIM, to acquaint the students with the activities performed by the Centre for Environment and Rotary Club to inspire students to take a step towards the society. They also provided them essential information regarding their chosen programmes. The first day concluded with an audio-visual session comprising the videos on value of time and focus towards their future. The band performance by zestful students Shashank, Arshdeep and Rohandeep entertained them. The induction programme was divided between Management and IT courses and made them undergo various training sessions on the second day through in house faculty of DAVIM, Ms. Priti Bali took a session on Cyberspace security, Dr. Sarita Kaushik on Information Technology, Dr.Ritu Arora on Chanakya Niti and Management and Dr. Anjali Ahuja on Team building . They enlightened the students and make them acquainted with the recent topics and also shared various tips for a good professional beginning. On the third day of the programme students of all UG courses were taken to watch the movie ‘Soorma’ @INOX, EF3 mall, Faridabad. On the fourth day of the programme sessions were conducted by Dr. Ashima Tandon and Dr. Deepak Sharma on the topic ICT and Reasoning & Aptitude respectively. On the fifth and concluding day various activities like singing, poster making, IT games, management games and indoor games were organized for students to discover the new talent at DAVIM. Students keenly participated in these activities.
At the beginning of the new academic session on 4th August, 2018 for the students of undergraduate courses of DAVIM, Interactive sessions were conducted by Institute of English Language and Personality Development. The trainer oriented the students for Time Management and Tools of Success and helped students to understand the requirements of an organization and trained the students to meet the expectations of the organization helping them to learn the technique of cracking the interview, The Importance of Time Management skills in building confidence, impressing anyone within 90 seconds, Build the trust, Self Motivation etc.. Students took keen interest and learned a lot from these sessions.
The new academic session commenced on 23rd with induction program which will continue till 28th August 2018 for MBA 22nd and MCA 20th batch respectively. On 23rd August a Hawan Ceremony was organized by the institute for faculty members and students in the campus for peaceful and positive environment and for seeking blessings of Almighty. On 24th August Dr. Neelam Gulati, Head of the Institute began the session with the welcome address and encouraged the students for putting in efforts, in excelling in academics and also keep themselves aware of the happenings around them and be able to become effective future managers in future. She also advised the students to be environment friendly by adopting some of the nearby areas as practicing an eco- friendly life style and having greener environment is a small step towards addressing the environmental crisis. Ms. AnubhaWalia, founder director of Prism trainings, international trainer and facilitator shared various strategies with the students related to ABC for successful life i.e. Appearance, Behavior and Confidence. She also gave them knowledge regarding Corporate world and suggested them to work with dedication. The session was followed by the address of Mr. Nishant Bansal, Vice Chairman of Geeta Group of Institutions, Panipat encouraged the students for social service and shared the needs and requirements of the companies. He also told students to respect parents, teachers and Institute as it will give them sense of belongingness throughout their life. He also advised them to learn one new thing everyday. Another speaker Mr. Praveen Arora from Automative Industry also Chief Manager at Escorts Limited addressed the students through presentation related to motivation and made them learn how to adapt according to situations. The second day concluded with the hope that students were motivated and took the learning seriously.
On 22nd August, 2018 WEC organized an interactive session on Entrepreneurship for Girls at YMCA, Faridabad. The girls were introduced to the world of entrepreneurship and encouraged to be the “Employment Generators” and “Not Employment Workers”. Eight girl students of DAVIM with their coordinator Dr. Hema Gulati attended the session. On 3rd September an interaction session was held at IAMSME Habitat Center where six out of eight girls were selected to be a part of year long program. On 14th September, a motivational session on team building of the selected candidates and their coordinators was conducted by Dr. S.K. Banerjee, organized at Aggarwal College, Ballabgarh. It will be a year long process where they will be systematically guided to design and establish their startups.
On 26th September, 2018, Business Administration Department of DAV Centenary College, Faridabad organized National level Powerpoint Presentation Competition where 2 students of DAV Institute of Management Manik Aggarwal of BBA (General) and Vansh Bhatia of BBA (Industry Integrated) participated. Competition was totally based on Research Point with various topics such as emerging Finance practices, HR practices, Marketing practices, IT practices, Environmental practices, Operation practices and International Business. The main focus of the competition was to make the students learn the use of IT in education. Manik Aggarwal of BBA (General) bagged the first prize and earned the token for the college.
The fifth session of the series of EFG- for grooming the budding entrepreneur girl candidates was organized at DAVIM Tarang Auditorium on 18th January, 2019. Team WEC of IMSME of India, Faridabad worked on the different project proposals of the 26 girls of different colleges of Faridabad and suggested some recommendations/ amendments to make these proposals more viable for implementation or applications for MUDRA loan for startups. The whole environment was fully charged and the enthusiasm of the girls was at its peak. About 30 girl students of different courses of DAV Institute of Management also attended this highly motivating and thought provoking session. Ms. Jaya Goyal, Chairperson, WEC, IMSME of India, Faridabad has also announced opening Entrepreneurship cell in each participating institute. Management club- Chanakya of DAVIM organised a Session on “Non- Performing Assets-Impact on Corporate & Economy” by Dr.Anil Sarin-Professor MRIU for MBA students. He strongly iterated that the NPAs are killing banks, companies and overall economy of the country. He discussed about the NPAs syndrome ULIVE-C-Public Model which he has presented to RBI. The event was coordinated by Dr. Meera Wadhwa and Dr.Ruchi Arora.
The Management Club - Chanakya of DAVIM, organized a session on the topic “Union Budget, 2019 – Key Takeaways” on 15th February, 2019 in Tarang Auditorium. Before starting the session, Dr. Ajay Garg requested that the gathering observe a 15 seconds silence to pay homage to the martyrs of Pulwama terror attack on 14th February, 2019. The speaker of the first technical session was Dr. Ajay Garg, who spoke on the welfare schemes announced in the latest budget. The speaker of the second technical session was CA R. K. Khandelwal who spoke about the taxation aspects which underwent changes as compared to the last year’s budget. It was an interactive session which provided an opportunity to the students to get an insight into the announcements of the Union Budget – 2019. The speakers also suggested various avenues for the benefit of the students. Dr. Ritu Gandhi Arora, Principal Officiating, thanked the speakers for a wonderful session and assured that best possible efforts will be made to implement the suggestions provided by the speakers.
Dr. Parshant Atkaan, Joint Commissioner , MCF, Faridabad took a session on 26th March addressed the MBA students and faculty. He gave valuable insights on Business strategy, power dynamics, time, alliance building and negotiation. He also quoted that strategy helps us to remain competitive and without strategy it is difficult to sustain in professional and personal life. Students felt highly motivated by his words of wisdom. DAVIM in association with MANAV Rachna under DST-Nimat Scheme and NSTEDB has oragnised “ Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp”for MBA and MCA students and faculty from 27th to 29th March 2019.Dr.Monika Goel ,Head business incubator MRIS discussed the historical framework of the entrepreneurship and told about various initiatives of Government of India for new start-ups. Dr.Sanjeev Sharma,Principal Director DAVIM thanked Dr.Monika Goel, Vice-principal DAVIM-Dr.Ritu Gandhi Arora, Dr.Meera Wadhwa Head MBA and Dr.Pooja Kaul for organising the program. He infused new energy into students and asked them to unleash their potential .Ms.Sonal Shah, Director Woman Entrepreneurship Association talked to students about identifying gap and generating idea and also start believing in themselves.
The MBA department organised a one day session at NGF COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, PALWAL. The session was conducted by Dr. Juhi Kohli on the topic “Combating Self Proclaimed Inhibitions" which was attended by students of BTech and BBA. The speaker discussed the importance of positive thinking and working on improving one's self esteem for attaining success in life. The session was highly appreciated and students felt that it was definitely a value addition for them.
The Institute observed September, 2019 as Teachers’ month and to mark the occasion a Teachers’ Conference on the theme ‘Empowering Educators’ was organized on Saturday, the 28th September 2019 in association with the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). The Chief Guest of the Conference was CS Sonal Goyal, IAS, Commissioner MCF. Principals and faculty members from schools and colleges in Faridabad were invited to attend the conference. CS Govind Mishra was the speaker of the day. The Chief Guest CS Sonal Goel, IAS Commissioner MCF and other speakers emphasized on the role of a teacher in shaping the future of our country and how a teacher can contribute in the overall development of a student.
Mr.Jyoti Raman, Sales Head BMW addressed the MBA students and staff on 27th August 2019. He gave valuable insights on VUCA i.e Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous. He also quoted that digitalization transformation is important in changing economy. He infused new energy into students and asked them to explore business opportunities by identifying the problem of society. He also explained difference between books and teachers. Students felt highly motivated by his words of wisdom.
The new academic session commenced on 19th August’2019 with induction programmew.e.f 19th August - 21st August 2019 for MBA 23rdand MCA 21stbatch respectively. On 19th August - Dr. Ritu Arora, Registrar and Vice Principal of the Institute addressed the students and encouraged them for putting in efforts their best efforts, excelling in academics and keeping themselves abreast with the happenings around them to become effective future managers in future. The resource person of Technical Session-I was Ms. Charu Smith Malhotra ,CEO and Co-Founder TAPDC . She motivated the students to develop into professionals that the corporate world requires and advised the students to be aware of digital trends, create networking with right people, learn entrepreneurial skills and develop creative thinking. Dr.Meera Arora proposed Vote of thanks to Ms. Charu Smith Malhotra for her valuable inputs to the students.
Technical session-II was taken by Ms. Sonam Saluja, a motivational speaker ,founder of Beyond all barriers .She spoke about various topics of goal setting for the coming years . She talked about the importance of body language and paralanguage, while communicating with people.She motivated students to become peoples’ person by improving their communication skills and by knowing others mindset while talking to them.Ms. Akanksha extended a hearty vote of thanks on behalf of DAVIM fraternity.
Second day started with Technical session –I by CA Rajesh Khandelwal who made the students aware about various job prospects available in present scenario after MBA and MCA. Dr. Juhi Kohli thanked CA Rajesh Khandelwal for his precious time and insights.
Technical session-II was taken by Mr.Gaurav Verma, Director Pranava Electrical Industries Pvt.Ltd . He motivated the students to have a mental diet plan and made them learn how to grab opportunities and lead in every situation. Ms. Priyanka Gaur presented the Vote of thanks.
Mr.Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Ex-Manager, PNB conducted Technical session II and told the students about challenges and prospects in Banking Industry. He also talked about the cyber crimes and how to avoid the cyber threats in internet banking.
The first technical session , Day III was taken by Mr. Tarun Kumar, AGM. IDBI. He gave valuable insights on digital banking and the new trends in banking sector. He also talked about job prospects in banking industry and how students can enter this industry. Dr. Bhawna Sharma proposed vote of thanks to Mr. Tarun Kumar for his valuable inputs.
Dr. Rahul Nanda, Director, RSAS foods and beverages Pvt limited, conducted Technical Session II and gave insights on the FMCG sector. He also talked about ABCD rule to become a star Performer: Awakening of passion, Believing in Yourself, Character of your own personality , Don’t give up.
Dr. Gurjeet thanked Dr. Nanda for his words of wisdom to the students.
New academic session commenced with the induction programme on 22nd July, 2019 for Undergraduate courses of Management. The Principal Director, Dr. Sanjeev Sharma welcomed the students to the institute and shared DAV philosophy with them. After formal start of the induction program, two sessions were conducted for students. The first session was taken by Mr. Vikram Dhawan who is a motivational speaker and alumni of DAVIM. Then another session was taken by Prof. Monica Bajaj from IBS, who talked about communication and soft skills. On the second day, training sessions were conducted by in- house faculty of DAVIM, Dr. Hema Gulati, Dr. Anjali Ahuja, Dr. Rashmi Bhargava and Ms. Archana Mittal. Talent fiesta was organized on the third day of Induction Program. Students participated with a great zeal in various activities like Dancing, Singing and poetry etc. On day four, Dr. Meera Arora, CA Bhawna, Ms. Rajnipriya and Ms. Esha Khanna conducted training sessions for students. On the last day, a motivational session by CA Tajender Bhardwaj was conducted for the students. In the end Rotaract Club members interacted with the students.
